This cottage was the perfect size for a getaway for the three of us. The cottage was very clean, well equipped and had everything we needed for a relaxing weekend. We enjoyed the gas fireplace more than expected since the weather turned unexpectedly cold! The cottage location was great, with easy access to Asheville and also Weaverville where we visited with friends. No complaints, just compliments to our hosts.
Enjoyed our 4 night stay at the Roxy Cottage. The location was perfect – felt like you were tucked away in a remote cabin, but only 5 minutes to grocery stores and 15 minutes downtown Asheville and the Blue Ridge Pkwy. The kitchen had all the essentials and we cooked most nights. Enjoyed some steaks from the gas grill. The unit was super clean had everything we needed. The bedrooms downstairs had plenty of privacy and were relatively sound proof to activities upstairs and the other/attached cottage. Overall a great stay – would highly recommend, hope to the Roxy Cottage in the future.
Welcoming, comfortable with every everything you could want for a vakay get away. Spotlessly clean, beautifully maintained. Warm, friendly, easy to get to everything we wanted to enjoy

Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review Karen. We hope you are able to return soon!! Sue
This cottage was clean and had everything we needed. We loved the large windows we could open for fresh air. (We were lucky enough to have some low humidity and mild temps in July). Beautiful view! The location was great, just 10 min from Asheville. Easy access to the interstate. But felt like we were very far away in nature! Grocery stores close. Some great restaurants in Weaverville 5 minutes away. 5 minutes from the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would highly recommend this property!
Our stay at Roxy Cottage was most exjoyable! The layout is great for relaxing, and the views of the valley and mountains are lovely. We enjoyed using the well equipped kitchen and eating on the large deck. The two bedrooms on the lower level provided privacy when it was desired. The beds were very comfortable and the place was clean. We enjoyed exploring Weaverville just minutes away as well as heading down to Asheville—only around 20 minutes to the south. I wish we could have stayed longer!
We felt at home, such a great place to stay. Owners very helpful and make sure you have the most comfortable and enjoyable stay. If you enjoy a quiet country setting yet convenient to all there is to do, this cottage is perfect. I can't say enough about this cottage and how much we enjoyed our stay. It has to be cleanest and well furnished of all the cottages/cabins we have ever stayed. We will definitely stay here again the next time we are in the area.

Thank you so much for taking the time to leave a review. We hope you are able to return soon!
Was the great time we had the company or the cottage? My sister and her husband were traveling home to MN via Asheville, and we met them at Suzanne's cottage #29 to stay two nights. The two bedroom cottage was polished clean, along with all the 3-4 days supplies that we would need. We didn't have to provide our own sheets, which I noticed several VRBO owners request. Not interested in those type of rentals. We didn't have to go to buy the simple basics, which was great. That meant we had more time to enjoy our company on the deck overlooking the mountains with a bottle of wine. I was laid up with a bad knee, and scratched the touring of Asheville spending it relaxing in the cottage. We would come back in a heartbeat. Thank you!
We truly enjoyed our stay in the Pleasant Grove Cottages. It's only a 15-20 min drive to Asheville, and many grocery stores are within 5 miles if you choose to stay in and cook. The cottage is well-equipped and comfortable with beautiful views. We unexpectedly received 12 inches of snow and were stuck for 24 hours, so the owners thoughtfully brought us something to cook for dinner from their own home. We would definitely stay here again.
Pleasantly surprised by our stay. The cottage was clean, updated and well-maintained. Very fairly priced for what it is. Beautiful views, peaceful location. Both the deck and the fireplace were great bonuses.
We spent the weekend in Weaverville and loved the cottage we had rented. It was in wonderful condition with a full kitchen and 2 full bedrooms. The owner supplied all the little things needed for a weekend.
This was the third time we have stayed in these adorable cottages. Very well equipped with everything you need. The cottage is clean, has great furnishings and overall a wonderful place to stay. Our dog loves it too!
Cottage was in a cute small town but close to Asheville. Great wifi and had everything you would need. Felt so at home and wouldn't hesitate to stay again! Several good restaurants right in Weaverville.
Beautiful cottage -- very clean and well maintained. Photos are accurate. Owners have thought of lots of little details, including a basket of brochures of different things to do, and leaving dog bowls and a leash for our Shih-Tzu. We hiked every day, and also enjoyed some lazy time at the cottage. Our family of four (two sons are 22 and 19) and our four-legged baby were very comfortable. Would definitely stay again!
WE HAD FAMILY STAYING AT PLEASANTGROVE COTTAGES FOR A WEDDING IN THE AREA. THE COTTAGE WAS DESIGNED SO GREAT WITH BEDROOMS BELOW AND FAMILY SPACE WITH KITCHEN AND A SMALL BATH ON FIRST FLOOR. WOULD NOT CHANGE A THING- EXCEPT TO HAVE HAD A LONGER STAY !!!! THE ENTIRE ASHEVILLE/WEAVERVILLE AREA IS GORGEOUS AND OFFERS PLENTY TO DO :)
Our stay at the Weaverville cottage exceeded out expectations! It was comfortable, very clean and included all essentials. Best of all - it had a magnificent view of the mountains and countryside from every living area! Weaverville is a short drive from Asheville and is close to restaurants, shopping and activities in its own town center. We enjoyed a relaxed and rejuvenating stay in the Asheville area. Our hosts provided magazines, guides and literature to help us plan our days. We hope to return again soon!
Two couples stayed at this cottage in order to visit Asheville. It was perfectly clean, really attractive, very comfortable ( including beds), and well equipped. It was just a quick drive to Asheville. Perfect place for us!!
This cabin is very confortable and cozy. Also in a great location and close to almost everything. We really enjoyed our five days there very much.
Owner Response
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and hopefully made some great memories with your daughter!
We used this lovely cottage for a girls weekend. It was close enough to Asheville to go every day. The mountain views were awesome. The furnishings were comfortable and attractive. The owners were friendly and helpful. The town of Weaverville has wonderful options for shopping and meals. We enjoyed our stay very much and hope to return.
Owner Response
Thanks for the Review Deborah and we look forward to your return!
5 minutes from downtown Weaverville's shops and restaurants, 15 minutes to Asheville, and a beautiful 10 minute drive to the Blue Ridge Parkway. Centrally located on the Parkway for an easy drive to ALL the fabulous trails on the BRP, and a nice short drive to the Laurel River trail too, near Hot Springs. Nice yard for the dog; leash and dog bowls were there to welcome us all. We ate dinner in quite a lot - either cooked or take-out - and found the kitchen to have everything we needed. No need to buy sugar and all that little stuff you use, but we did contribute a jar of mustard... Sue was extremely gracious as well. I'd suggest this little cottage for anyone's next trip to the area.
Owner Response
Thank you Carol. We are so pleased you had a great stay. We too feel from our location our guests get to experience the best of both worlds! City and country living.
Wedding weekend
What a perfect little spot for us to stay when we had wedding events all around Weaverville. Spotless and very well stocked with plenty of room for two couples and our little golden retriever. Wish we could have stayed longer because it would be lovely to watch the leaves change there! Thanks so much!
This is a beautiful Cabin/Home in the mountains outside of Asheville. It looks brand new, but has been used a couple years already! This cabin is equipped with all the appliances and utensils you would need for a stay. The fresh flowers were a special welcome touch. We enjoyed the comfortable accommodations to relax in after our days touring the Asheville area with our adult children and our dog. We had an opportunity to meet Sue and she was very personable and welcoming.
We stayed in the duplex cottages with family while in the area for a wedding in Weaverville. The cottages were all that we could have hoped for. The location is lovely as well as convenient. The amenities were not lacking in any way. We loved both the decor and the layout. It was perfect for us having the duplex cottages to allow our family the closeness we wanted, while also providing separate cooking and sleeping quarters as needed. Weaverville is a quaint town with some really great places to eat and shop. I especially enjoyed the fabulous pottery shop and art shop, and the amazing pastries at Well-Bred. I hope to get back sometime and just relax and enjoy another week in the area. Thank-you Sue and Joe for sharing your lovely property with us!
Owner Response
Thank you Julie. We appreciate you leaving us a review and do hope you can return soon!
Our Pleasant Grove Cottage near Weaverville NC was everything it was suppose to be. Comfortable accommodations, great kitchen and outdoor eating area and pleasant rural surroundings that showcased the near by mountains. Our extended family came down for a week stay during spring break and were lucky enough to catch some wonderful weather and warm temps that had us out daily, hiking, biking and enjoying everything Asheville. Our Little Red Cottage worked out great from coming in early to keep our grandson on his nap schedule, to enjoying the final four basketball games on the large TV. Our stay was very nice and our group of 5 had plenty to enjoy. Our only misfortune was some loud construction going on up the road that started early and lasted all day, a short term power outage, and a late night fire alarm in need of new batteries. These minimal distractions did nothing to keep us from highly recommending this great little gem tucked away in the Blue Ridge. Thanks for everything, Dunn Family
My family rented this cottage to come spend the weekend with our daughter who is in a near by college. The cottage was absolutely perfect! The kitchen was well stocked, the rooms cozy, and the views breathtaking! We very much look forward to a return visit!
This is such a charming cottage and it has a great view! We stayed for a weekend getaway and it had everything that we needed to stay comfortable. It's a reasonable drive to attractions in/around Asheville. We will definitely be looking at this rental for future trips.
Owner Response
Thank you for your review Ashley. We are so happy you enjoyed your stay with us!
What a fabulous place! The cottage was new, clean and wonderful just like the photos show! Quiet and great views! My two girlfriends and I have been treating ourselves to a weekend away for the past 5 years and we agreed this was the best VRBO so far! I would definitely come back again. My only comment is the towels in the green and blue bathroom smelled moldy. Rewashed them but they still had an odor. Other bathroom with red towels were fine. Not a deal breaker. Had great food at the Glass Onion in Weaverville! Close to Asheville, Biltmore and Blueridge Parkway.
Owner Response
Thanks for the review Liz and most importantly the info on the towels. They shall be replaced!! So glad you enjoyed your stay and hope you return.
My daughter and I enjoyed the cottage tremendously for our getaway. Very clean, roomy cottage with a great view of the mountains. Close to everything with many different places to choose from for delicious food. Totally enjoyed the massages at Sensibilities in Asheville also. We even had a rainbow view.
Owner Response
Thanks for taking the time to leave us a Review. We hope you return soon!
We had a great time staying in this nice and clean cottage! The view was great. We were two couples traveling with infants. The owner was very accommodating and provided a high chair and pack n play for us. The owner was also very prompt in responding to any questions we had. The cottage is in Weaverville, which is just north of Asheville. Weaverville is a cool little town, too! The Stoney Knob Café in Weaverville was awesome. Overall, a great place to stay!
Owner Response
Thanks Meg for leaving us a review. Next purchase is the baby gate! So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. Hope to have you back again soon.
We were running the half marathon in Asheville but the Asheville prices were very high. Staying in Weaverville was the perfect option. This cottage is easy to find and less than 10 minutes off the interstate. It is super easy to get to Asheville proper. The cottage is clearly very new and well appointed (though oddly there were no measuring cups in the kitchen we could locate) It was very clean and well laid out. We use VRBO frequently and I can say with confidence these owners did the best job of any rental I have done of communicating what the cottage came with and what we needed to bring. They were very prompt about returning the security deposit and just top notch professionals throughout. We had time to kill before check in and checked out the town of Weaverville. It is adorable and has received some amazing press from Southern Living and other publications - a true hidden gem. Save your time and some money and have lunch or breakfast at the Well Bred Bakery!!!! Highly recommended. We would definitely stay here again.
My wife and I stayed in this cottage for our first trip to Asheville. We had wanted to find a cabin or a cottage with a great view of the mountains. This cottage, just a short drive north of Asheville, fit the bill perfectly, with an amazing view that we could enjoy from the deck, or from the upstairs living/dining/kitchen area, or from the bedrooms downstairs, or from the downstairs patio. The owners thought of just about everything that we would need, including some thoughtful extras that we didn't expect, such as a refrigerator stocked with basic condiments and bottled water. And the cottage and everything in it appears to be brand new and in great condition. It was a short, easy drive from the cottage to the Biltmore Estate and other sights that we wanted to see in Asheville. There is also a grocery store and restaurants not far from the cottage, in and around the town of Weaverville. (I especially recommend the Bavarian Restaurant and Biergarten for anyone who likes German food and beer.) And there is a nice route that takes you along a small winding road from the cottage to the Blue Ridge Parkway, which we really enjoyed. (And I'm sure there are many more great things to see and do nearby, that we just didn't have time for.) If you're looking for a comfortable, relaxing place to stay near Asheville, with privacy and a great view, this cottage would be a great choice.
Owner Response
Paul, Thanks so much for such a detailed and helpful review. We look forward to having you return sometime!
We loved our stay at this cozy little cottage which was neat, clean, well equipped and well maintained. The views of the mountain were spectacular so my husband, our dog Jack and I enjoyed chilling out just looking out the large windows that face the mountains...so quiet and peaceful. My husband and I love to hike and there are wonderful trails to explore nearby; we didn't have enough time to do all we wanted to do. Not only did we have Asheville restaurants to experience, there are also some nice ones in the little town of Weaverville ( so close to the cottage). There's always something going to do within driving distance of our cottage: Asheville, the Biltmore , NC Arboretum, Black Mountain, to mention a few. Furthermore, the developers and landlords of the cottages, Joe and Sue Mattera, couldn't have been more hospitable! I highly recommend these rentals. Thank you, Sue and Joe, for creating this little piece of heaven and sharing it with others!
Owner Response
Laura, We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and do hope you come back soon!!
My sisters and spent a week at this North Carolina cottage. We absolutely loved our stay! The view from the deck is a million dollar view of the mountains and the fall foliage. It was our #1 favorite experience of our trip. The cottage is new and spotless. There are many things to do such as tour the Biltmore Estate, gardens, and winery; drive the blue ridge parkway; hike the many trails and explore Asheville. We took a trolley tour of the city and a walking food tour which we loved. We explored the River Arts District and had lunch on the Sunset Terraceof the Grove Park Inn--fabulous! We highly recommend this cottage.
Owner Response
I am so glad you made some great memories with your sisters. Thank you for your review!
My husband and I spent a week at this cottage. It was a great location--close to Asheville for shopping/dining, and easy to get on the Blue Ridge Parkway and to hikes in the area. Weaverville also has everything you need in terms of groceries and other necessities. It was great to come back after a day out and just relax in the house--much better than a hotel!
We had a wonderful time at this cottage. My two young daughters loved watching the two beautiful horses across the street each morning. The cottage was very clean and well stocked. The cottage looked brand new and was very quaint and cute. We enjoyed drinking our coffee each morning sitting on the patio off the master bedroom. Would defiantly stay there again.
Owner Response
Thank you Amy! We love those horses too!
Better in real life than online, this is a clean and comfortable duplex with a wonderful view. The owners were helpful during the booking process and personable on site. I recommend a stay here. Lots of outdoor activities nearby. A great bakery, Dough, on the road to Asheville is a must. Easy access from Asheville Airport too.
My husband, father, dog and I stayed in this cottage for 18 days and enjoyed every moment of our time. The cottage is furnished comfortably and has stunning views. You will want to spend all of your time on the deck watching the amazing mountain views. Sue and Joe live next door and are available if needed, however are very respectful of your privacy. Since this was more of a working vacation for us, we definitely plan to return and spend more time R&R at the cottage!
Owner Response
We look forward to having you back Andrea!
This was one of the best vacations we have taken. My wife and I love Asheville and when we found this cottage we instantly booked it based on the pictures and being pet friendly. The cottage was a great place to stay, close to Asheville the Blue Ridge Parkway, hiking and lots of other activities. I can't wait to go back.
Owner Response
Thanks Michael. We would love to have you stay with us again! Sue
We enjoyed our 4 night stay at this new cottage in Weaverville, VA. We loved the town of Weaverville which is only a 10 min drive from Asheville. Cheery decor and beautiful views met us along with our hostess Sue! It was nice to know she was next door should we have questions or issues! We will recommend this property to friends!
Owner Response
Thank you Peggy for appreciating our cottage and this wonderful area. It was a pleasure to have you!
We stayed in the Roxy cottage during a house hunting expedition to the Asheville area. It is beautifully outfitted, quiet and with lovely views. Our dog enjoyed her stay too! The cottages are conveniently located close to the Blue Ridge Parkway and near the town of Weaverville. Great hiking, shops and food! Hop on the highway and in 10 minutes you are in Asheville, exploring the shopping, art, craft beers and excellent dining. Ten minutes east from Weaverville you are on the trails. It is north of Asheville and not near the Biltmore Estate but it is easy to get there if you want to combine city and country on your trip. The cottages have everything and anything you need. Sue, Joe and Callie are wonderful hosts, chock full of information and helpful suggestions (or, in Callie's case, she wanted to ride in our car). It is easy to walk on the country roads with your dog and experience peace and quiet. This is a perfect getaway!
Owner Response
Jayne, We are so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and that your trip was a successful one. Buying a house within a week is quite a feat! We know that you will both love living in this beautiful area. Please stay in touch!
What a find, viws, views and more views! Peaceful, quiet, relaxing, romantic, comfortable, cosy, practical and more. Can't wait to go back. Ideally located close to the quant town of Weaverville but close enough to explore Asheville. The scenic Blue Ridge parkway is also minutes away with lots of trails closd by for hiking or biking or running. A great location to suite any type of short or long getaway. Sue and Joe Matterra are perfect hosts taking care of every detail. As a B and B owner in the Cotswolds I am extremely particular and so I was taken aback at the lengths which the hosts had gone to in order to make sure every guest is 100% satisfied. Don't hesitate book today if you can get in.
Owner Response
Thanks Anne for the great review. It's wonderful to hear that you appreciate our cottage and this area as much as we do. We hope you can come back for another visit soon!
The cottages are modern, extremely clean, and very comfortable. Stocked with everything you need including fun family games! The views are amazing! It is close to Asheville and Weaverville. We explored a wonderful park not too far with a lake, river, playground and walking trails. It was just perfect and we cannot wait to return.
Owner Response
We are so happy that you made some great memories here with your son and mom. Please visit us again soon!!
Nice cabins with EVERYTHING you'd want for a long weekend, or an entire month. Because they are new, everything was in immaculate shape. Nothing to recommend to improve. Wish we could have stayed longer. 13 minutes from Ashville's downtown.
Owner Response
We are so glad you enjoyed your stay with us Jose and Claire and we look forward to having you stay with us again soon!
Pleasant Grove Cottages are absolutely wonderful !! I spent five weeks there and just left today...so wishing I could stay longer. Nestled along the Blue Ridge Parkway in quaint Weaverville, North Carolina, these cottages are quite lovely. They are brand new and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It's a perfect location for hiking or just relaxing out on the deck. The views are truly spectacular!! The owners live in one of the cottages and are the sweetest folks you'll ever meet!! They're a great resource for things to do and places to explore...also helpful when it comes to dining. The cottages are so great !! Can't wait to go back again. Fall at Pleasant Grove should be spectacular!! It was one of the BEST vacations I have ever had !! Thank you !

Katie, it was truly wonderful to have you and we loved getting to know you and building a friendship. Your infectious enthusiasm for our little slice of heaven mirrors our sentiments exactly. Being new to this business we really appreciate such a glowing review. Many thanks!!
This cottage is located close to Asheville and is a great location for someone taking advantage of the area. We visited Maggie Valley and Wolf Ridge on our ski vacation. The owners were fantastic to work with and the cottage exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend this cottage for your next visit to the Blue Ridge Mountains!
Owner Response
Thank you Fred. It was a pleasure having your family as one of our first guests!
